Sixty-two NBs (45 primary tumors and 17 NBs at relapse) were studied in terms of the methylation status of 19 genes (p15INK4a, p16INK4a, p14ARF, APC, RB1, RASSF1A, BLU, FHIT, RARbeta, INI1, TIMP3, NF2, MGMT, DAPK, FLIP, ECAD, CASP8, and the receptors DcR1 and DcR2).
The promoters of the RASSF1A (3p21.3), BLU (3p21.3) and MGMT (10q26) genes were analyzed by MCA-MSP and MCA-Meth in 13 astrocytoma samples, 6 high grade glioma cell lines and 4 neuroblastoma cell lines.
Taken together, our results suggest that UBE2N is a potential therapeutic target in NB and provide a basis for the rational use of UBE2N inhibitors like NSC697923 as a novel treatment option for NB patients.
